I am an associate professor at the School of Media and Communication at Korea University in Korea. I hold a Ph.D. in the Media, Technology, and Society Program, School of Communication at Northwestern University. My research uses a network approach to understand the relationship between organizations and stakeholders. My research uniquely explores the nature of organization-stakeholder interdependencies and outcomes. I have examined how stakeholders perceive interorganizational networks, how online networks develop into autonomous stakeholder communities, and how communicative networks influence stakeholders’ way of participating in voluntary organizations online and offline. I have combined theories of organizational and strategic communication with varied research methods (e.g., network analysis, text analysis, structural equation modeling, and qualitative inquiry) to interrogate the organization-stakeholder relationship.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Seoul National University (Summa cum laude) and a M.S. (Culture Technology) from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). Prior to joining Korea University, I served as an associate professor at the School of Media and Communications at Kwangwoon University in Korea.
