I am an assistant professor in School of Communications at Kwangwoon University in Korea. I hold a Ph.D. in the Media, Technology, and Society Program, School of Communication at Northwestern University and participated in the Network for Nonprofit and Social Impact. My research uses a network approach to understand the relationship between organizations and stakeholders. My research uniquely explores the nature of organization-stakeholder interdependencies and outcomes. I have examined how stakeholders perceive interorganizational networks (Ihm et al., 2014), how online networks develop into autonomous stakeholder communities (Ihm, 2015), and how communicative networks influence stakeholders’ way of participating in voluntary organizations online and offline (Ihm, 2016). I combined theories of organizational and strategic communication with varied research methods (e.g., network analysis, structural equation modeling, and qualitative inquiry) to interrogate the organization-stakeholder relationship.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Seoul National University (Summa cum laude) and a M.S. (Culture Technology) from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).
